4wd only campground beside the Chandler River in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
You are required to pre book to camp here and will require a key to access the road in (available from Armidale National Parks Office).
There is river water, but no drinking water so you will need to bring your own.
National Parks are usually kind enough to leave a pile of mill off cuts here for firewood, which is a great idea to stop people collecting wood in the National Park. Might be worth bring some firewood though, just in case.
The fire pits are great, with some having little paved areas around them and swing arms over the top.
The camping area is large, level, grassy and very attractive, with the occasional kangaroo, wallaby or brumby paying a visit to help keep the lawn mowed.
Remember that the track in is suitable for high clearance 4wds with low range as it does get very steep and can be pretty slippery after rain.
This campground is well worth the journey and you will want to spend more than one day here after the drive in.
