This is technically a Rest Area and subject to a 24 hour maximum stay (strictly enforced) but...

...as well as catering for many RV'ers it has some places for quiet camping on the grass by the river.

Avoid when there is an event at the showground unless that is why you are going there.

They have recently closed some of the river side camping areas and now charge a $5 fee per night.

The original post office in town is now a general store and makes great coffee (as well as still being a functioning post office). It is almost like a little nostalgia museum with some interesting items on the shelves and walls. Well worth a visit for lunch or a cuppa, and is a standard stop of mine whenever I am passing Bendemeer.
