With rainforest and Mount Chinghee as a backdrop, this is a spacious campsite with plenty of room for vans and campers.

Alongside the Running Creek with some lovely swimming holes, and tall trees, this campsite is a testament for the work the Lions Clubs do in many small towns to provide facilities and services.

Fast running creek, toilets, no showers, no electric or gas barbecues (built fireplaces only).

No drinking water available, creek water should be boiled before use.

Camped here last week - awesome little quiet spot. Nice well maintained grassed area surrounded by trees and the creek down one side with the sound of water running over the rocks 24/7. Heaps of spots to pull over and claim for large or small groups, utes, bikes, cans, trailers - anything at all really, I even picked out two trees for my hammock next time we go there. Old mate in his truck comes around before dusk to collect fees. Bring your own firewood thought - if you forget there are a couple of places along the way you can grab some pre-bagged stuff or - go back up the road (towards Rathdowney) a click or two, local bloke is making a few bucks selling firewood.

Camp ground Its on the side of a hill, so some spots aren't particularly level as you go further back and up higher, so plan to deal with that if you need to. Plenty of old car rims and rocks dragged up from creeks for fires. Interstate train comes around during the night - doesn't cause any issues really, part of the background noise. You'd have to be really picky for it to annoy you. We were off to the side so probably not the best for star gazing at night due to all the hills and trees around. Creek is great for the kids to walk around and 'explore' - was too cold for swimming at this time of year but looks like an awesome spot for it in warmer months.

Will definitely be going back.
