Located in a secluded ravine by the upper Loddon River.

A well developed picnic area and caravan park shaded by exotics, surrounded by steep rocky slopes.

The caravan park is generally staffed at weekends and peak holidays, is small and rather cramped with only half the sites shaded. Little grass.

Laundry, hot showers, shelter, no fires. Caretaker may be hard to find.

The free camping area near the park entry is now signed "No Camping"

Many walking trails, historic mining relics, mineral springs, giant slide, dam provides swimming.

Note Pets are no longer allowed at this campground.

Access

This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there

from Castlemaine [B180] : South 8k on the Midland Hwy [A300] almost to Yapeen, left (east) 1k to Strathloddon, right (south) 4k on the Vaughan Springs Rd to Vaughan Springs, cross the Fryers Cr bridge 300m on the Drummond Rd up to the top of the hill, right (round the Chinese cemetery) down to the park (signposted), through day area to caravan park.
