About Springbrook National Park

Only about 100km south from Brisbane and near the Gold Coast, this National Park offers a mix of open eucalypt forest, rainforest and impressive water falls.

Springbrook is part of the "Gondwana Rainforest of Australia" which is a patch work of remnant rainforest that used to be predominant rainforest type in Australia, but now is limited to these small sections protect by National Parks.

Glow Worms

The Natural Bridge section gives you the chance to see glow worms on the overhanging rocks along a 1km walk. Glow Worms are larvae of a small fly Arachnocampa flava and live in the rainforest. The best time to see them is during the warmer months. The glow worms use the light to attract other small insects which they catch in their sticky web.
