Only accessible by 4WD, Mountain Arm campground is a peaceful and remote rustic camping site.

It offers a great family getaway within Yengo National Park, near Windsor.

Fire pits and long drop toilets are the only facilities.

How to book:

Contact the Gosford NPWS office on (02) 4320 4203 Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. Please note, bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance to allow time for the gate key to be mailed to you. Alternatively, the key can be picked up from the Gosford office Mon - Fri upon arrangement.

Access

4wd only access.

Getting there

Mountain Arm campground is in the Big Yango precinct of Yengo National Park. To get there:

From Laguna, head south along Great North Road for about 1.6km (look out for all the letter boxes), then turn right onto Yango Creek Road, follow for 2.2km before turning left onto Upper Yango Creek Road.

Alternatively, from Wollombi, join Yango Creek Road in the town just northwest of Wollombi Tavern, and follow for approximately 10km to Upper Yango Creek Road.

Continue along Upper Yango Creek Road for 2.4km then turn right after the small wooden bridge and cattle grid and go up the hill onto Finchley track. Follow for 9.2km, passing Finchley lookout.

Continue west, veering right onto Yango track, and follow for 13.5km to Big Yango entrance and the locked gate.

Through the gate, follow the trail 5km to the homestead then follow the trail between the homestead and pine trees. About 3km further along, you’ll pass over a sandy causeway to arrive at the campground.
