A large, beautiful, free campground on the banks of the Turon River.

This is a very large campground with plenty of room for a caravan. The ground is mostly level and is well grassed. There are a few goods spots if you are looking for shade, as well as plenty of sunny locations if you need to recharge via solar.

The area is known for gold and you can pick up the odd fleck panning in the creeks. Metal detecting is also quite popular with the fossickers.

Fires are permitted and there is a "built" rock fireplace down by the river. There is also a well maintained windy loo, rubbish bins, sheltered picnic tables and a water tank (boil before drinking).

Fishing

This is a great river for chasing brown and rainbow tout as well as the native species. I am looking forward to a kayak fishing trip here, as it seems although the trout are there, they spook easily. Quietly in a kayak might be the go... There are also plenty of carp in here which can give the kids something to catch for fun.
