An unusual site, being located inside a volcano crater. The pine tree covered crater rim provides good wind protection.

A range of mainly exotic trees provide ample shade and, together with short green grass, a park-like atmosphere. Bird life is limited.

The circuit road provides good access to all potential sites (5 benches and BBQs), although many are sloping. Well off main roads near the end of the tourist access road. Expect day trippers. Tap water

A very pleasant, cool camp. Rated 4.4/5

See the Hepburn Regional Park, and Mt Franklin Reserve park note for maps and walks.
