Centrally located between Nimbin and Murwillumbah in the small town of Kunghur NSW, is the Misty Mountain Campground where you’ll see the morning mist roll in, then clear to reveal spectacular days! Misty Mountain Campground offers 3500 acres of private property to explore including swimming holes, a waterfall, bush walking tracks plus more and boasts magnificent views of Mt Warning and the surrounding area.

Misty Mountain is suitable for tent campers, caravans, motorhomes and big rigs and there is also a range of Onsite Accommodation available. The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery makes this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer.

There are many private locations for you to set up camp which is perfect for couples wanting some time alone or families and groups who want to camp together as spots are not allocated. Gravel roads make for easy access to the main campsites, but you will need a 4WD to access the outback sites. Sites are unpowered but if you want power it is available for a very minimal cost. You can park up in the sun if you want to use your solar or there is plenty of shady areas to choose. Misty Mountain Campground is pet friendly and your horses are welcome too.

The facilities that include toilets, hot showers, camp kitchen, a games room with a TV, pool table and more, are centrally located to the campsites. Depending on where you set up you may have to walk or take a short drive to get to them. There are campfires scattered around the campgrounds with ample firewood around for you to collect and you can even bring your chainsaw for larger fallen logs. Firewood is also available for purchase on arrival.

Campers have long been enjoying this magnificent property but if camping is not for you or you don’t have your own van, there are other options at Misty Mountain. They also have onsite accommodation available to suit couples, families and groups. There is a Euro Teardrop Van that sleep 2, 2 x Cosy Cabins that sleep 4 and a 4 bedroom Private House that sleeps 12 and is set high up on a mountain with extensive views of Mt Warning and beyond, perfect for family gatherings or a weekend away with a group of friends.

The campgrounds are centrally located to so the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Nimbin, Lismore, Kyogle, Murwillumbah and Mt Warning which are just a few of the places within an hours drive from Misty Mountain. The Mt Burrell General Store is only 4 kms and well stocked with groceries and other essentials you may need including petrol. There is a fruit and vege barn adjacent to the store and if you don’t feel like cooking, its only 2km to The Sphinx Rock Cafe which serves a delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks.

House (Sleeps 12) Fee is $240/night for 4 people, Extra Adult $30/night, Extra Child $15/night, Children under 5 are Free.
