A popular, free, campground on the Burdekin River.

This is a large campground with plenty of room for those unlucky enough to have to tow a caravan. There is not a lot of shade here, so you tend to be looking at everyone elses caravans when it is busy.

There is a basic amenities block, that even has (cold only) showers. Not such a bad thing up this way, especially if you have your shower during the day when it is stinking hot.

The river here is fairly shallow, however there are quite a few Sooty Grunters pulled out of this stretch as well as the odd decent sized Barramundi. This spot would make a decent base for a kayak fishing trip too, as access to the water is fairly easy.
